The Team:

• The Burnie Adult Community Mental Health Service (BACMHS NW) is a case management service that provides expert mental health care including assertive case management, triage, holistic physical and mental health assessment, clinical risk management and crisis intervention within the community setting.

  Working in a regional setting offers broad exposure — the team handles diverse populations and situations, requiring creative, flexible approaches to achieve excellence in mental health care for consumers, families, and the community.  This team environment emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and community engagement, making it a dynamic and impactful setting for an allied health professional.

The Role:

As part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies

You will need to:

• Undertake the delivery of quality recovery focussed services to clients of the Burnie Adult Community Mental health service based on best practice principles and within a recovery framework. Service delivery is within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework, that includes those with lived experiences. 
• Provide a specialist assessment and consumer lead treatment service to clients of  Adult Community mental health services and their families or carers. 
• Promote community awareness in relation to mental health and develop and enhance relationships with other mental health service providers. Act as a consultant to other agencies with regard to the support and management of clients with mental health needs.

Details of appointment:

Permanent part time, day worker position, working 48 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. 

Allowances: 

• Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: (edit and delete as required)

• Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

• Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; or
• Degree in Social Work giving eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers; or
• Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.
• Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable as determined by individual position requirements).
