Job description:

The Administrative Assistant provides day‑to‑day administrative support to the Speech Pathology team, helping ensure services run smoothly and clinicians are well supported to focus on patient care. This Hobart‑based role supports speech pathologists working across the continuum of care and contributes to efficient local administrative and business processes.

Administrative Assistant - Speech Pathology

The Administrative Assistant provides day‑to‑day administrative support to the Speech Pathology team, helping ensure services run smoothly and clinicians are well supported to focus on patient care. This Hobart‑based role supports speech pathologists working across the continuum of care and contributes to efficient local administrative and business processes.

Flexibility with workdays and hours is available and will be discussed with the successful applicant.

You Will:

  • Provide face‑to‑face and telephone reception services, including scheduling and coordination of outpatient appointments, requiring a high level of computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems confidently.
  • Ensure sensitive, accurate, and confidential handling of enquiries, with information communicated to the appropriate clinician in a timely manner.
  • Undertake a range of general administrative and clerical duties to support clinicians and senior staff, completing delegated tasks accurately under minimal supervision following training.

You Will Bring:

  • Strong attention to detail and an appreciation for doing things properly the first time
  • A growth mindset and willingness to learn — you don’t need to know everything on day one
  • Initiative (where appropriate) and the ability to work collaboratively with a busy, friendly Speech Pathology team
  • Confidence to work independently after training, while knowing support is always available

This role would suit someone who enjoys being a reliable point of contact, likes contributing to a well‑run service, and appreciates working in a team where your work genuinely makes a difference.

Details of appointment:

Permanent part time, day worker position, working 22.8 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $66,049 to $70,993 per annum (pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
