
The Team:
Health Information Services (HIS) is a facility-based administrative service covering health records management, medical transcription, health records forms coordination and release of patient information. The primary focus is providing high quality clinical information at the point of care, including timely preparation and scanning of documentation to the digital medical record (DMR) and supporting Doctors with transcription of clinical correspondence for external Health Providers, for ongoing care and supporting patient safety. We have cohesive teams across each region, North, North-West and South. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
The Role:
Health Information Officer supports the continuation of client/patient care by:
- Performing various clerical and administrative tasks involving organisational skills and attention to detail in support of the effective day to day service delivery required in Health Information Services (HIS).
You will need
- Analyse, collate, and prepare all clinical and related internal and external documentation into the approved health record in accordance with the AS 2828 Health Records and Agency policies, protocols, and guidelines.
- Methodically prepare and accurately enter data associated with patient information including reviewing, scanning, uploading, and maintaining clinical documentation, applying quality assurance processes and registering/updating patient demographics into the health information systems in a timely, and confidential manner.
- Undertake administrative and clerical duties including processing confidential patient health records, both digitised and paper based.

Details of appointment:
Multiple permanent, part time, day worker positions, working up to 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $66,049 to $70,993 per annum (pro-rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
