Join Adult Mental Health Services (AMHS) in the South – a collaborative, multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care. You’ll work alongside psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and other allied health professionals in a supportive environment that values innovation, professional growth, and teamwork.
The Role:
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will play a pivotal leadership role by identifying training gaps and building staff capability through mentoring, supervision, and tailored development plans, working with teams across the state to drive service improvement initiatives that enhance quality, safety, and client outcomes.
In addition, you will provide expert clinical assessment and recovery-focused interventions, develop group programs and community education sessions, contribute to recruitment and teaching activities, offer strategic advice on occupational therapy services and workforce planning.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the role, influence service delivery, and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to achieve exceptional outcomes.
You will need:
- Proven ability to exercise independent professional judgment and lead complex assessments
- Experience in developing treatment plans for adults with major mental health issues
- Ability to design, implement, and evaluate policies, protocols, and procedures
- Capacity to lead quality assurance programs and provide professional supervision
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible .
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $123,717 to $134,336 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Allowances:
- Please note that access to salaries beyond $130,900 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Eligibility:

- Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Occupational Board of Australia
- Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
