
The Team:
Statewide Mental Health Services delivers care to Tasmanians with mental health conditions; and includes the servicing of the Mental Health Outcentres. At these outcentres, the Adult Mental Health team provides a range of services for people with complex mental health conditions including assessment, treatment and rehabilitation. All services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
The Role:
- Provide a safe and efficient clinical pharmacy service to patients of the Tasmanian Health Service.
- Utilise specialist knowledge of mental health to manage, monitor and review pharmaceutical care programs.
- Act as a resource person in the field of mental health and provide supervision and support to other pharmacy staff.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 7th February 2027.

Position Features:
- Occasional travel intra and interstate may be required.
- Participation in a roster with other pharmacists for out-of-hours provision of pharmacy services, as needed.
- All pharmacy positions at this level are considered ‘rotational’. The incumbent will be expected to perform the duties of this position on a substantive basis; this position will also be rotational. During rotations, other pharmacy staff will perform the duties of this position, and the incumbent must expect that they will be required to perform the duties of other positions at the pharmacy that is classified at the same level (or lower), at the direction of the supervisor.
- Rotations will typically be fixed term (around 3 months) but may be of any duration and may occur at any time.
- Rotations may include the full range of pharmacy specialties and services.
- During rotations, the incumbent will be expected to provide reasonable assistance to any staff performing the duties of this position.
Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022.
Salary Packaging:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Allowances:
- Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
- Market allowance of $10,000 per annum, pro rata

Eligibility:
- Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia or completion of an overseas qualification eligible for skills assessment through the Australian Pharmacy Council.
- Registered with the Pharmacy Board of Australia
For pre-registration (intern) pharmacists: Eligible for provisional registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
