
The Team:
The Pharmacy Information Management team, within the Statewide Pharmacy Service, provides management and support for the various medication information systems that the Pharmacy and associated Clinical Services rely upon to provide timely, quality and safe use of Medication across the hospital based public care services within Tasmania.
The team supports clinical decision-making by ensuring medication data is accurate, current, and effectively integrated across digital health platforms. Working collaboratively with clinical, technical (HICT, Health Information Communication Technology), and governance stakeholders, the team contributes to patient safety, service improvement, and evidence-based practice through strong information management and pharmacy expertise.
The Role:
Provide information and data management support for management and service delivery functions of the Statewide Hospital Pharmacy Service.
To bridge the communication gaps between the Pharmacy and HICT teams to provide improved system utilisation and developments.
Undertake ongoing support and development of the integrated pharmacy systems (iPharmacy, Guidance, HCS (Healthcare Clinical Suite)) to ensure they continue to meet the needs of the pharmacy service.
You will need to:
- Support the day-to-day operations of the various pharmacy information technology applications with a particular focus on the iPharmacy dispensing system and its interfaces to related systems.
- Train and supervise staff in the use of pharmacy IT systems across the State.
- Assist in the management of prescription and supply data for cost centre and activity reporting.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term part time, day worker (with on call) position, working 45.6 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 29 September 2026.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $110,425 to $119,290 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

- Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Registered with the Pharmacy Board of Australia
- Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia or completion of an overseas qualification eligible for skills assessment through the Australian Pharmacy Council.
