The Role:
The Director Clinical Systems leads and directs Ambulance Tasmania staff and resources to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of clinical services for frontline roles, maintaining a highly skilled and adaptable workforce capable of delivering high quality safe care to consumers.
The position is a senior leader reporting to the Executive Director, Clinical Services and is required to cultivate a culture of clinical excellence in Ambulance Tasmania enhancing the capability of all staff in the performance of their role ensuring high standards of clinical quality and patient safety.
The position is responsible and accountable for:
- Strategically managing all clinical matters relating to Ambulance Tasmania, in consultation with the Executive Director Clinical Services.
- Providing strategic leadership to numerous teams supporting clinical systems capabilities including clinical governance, policy and procedures, medication management, clinical risk, research, clinical and professional practice, quality, and safety.
You will need to:
- Strategically manage and lead the advancement of clinical services within Ambulance Tasmania, ensuring efficiencies in internal process and approval, service delivery and care provisions.
- Manage Ambulance Tasmania’s Clinical Governance Framework, promoting an environment of continual improvement in service provision, patient care and compliance with Departmental strategies, government reforms and directions.
- Support Ambulance Tasmania’s Strategic Plan, ensuring that all levels of Ambulance Tasmania clinical service provisions are efficiently and effectively undertaken and in accordance with contemporary standards and practice.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $178,112 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Ambulance Tasmania Agreement 2019

- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Registered with the Paramedicine Board of Australia.
- Holds a Bachelor of Paramedic Science or other qualification approved by the Service, relevant work experience and an additional qualification in management or equivalent.
- Current Driver's Licence.
