Join our close‑knit Physio team of 80 passionate clinicians working at the top of their scope in a collaborative, evidence‑informed environment. Senior Physiotherapist – AHP Level 3 – Acute Medical Unit

Tasmanian Health Service – North (Launceston General Hospital)

To be Tasmanian is to pursue quality over quantity. We create, preserve, and protect the unusual. With passion and perseverance, with an embrace of our history and our stories, we quietly pursue the extraordinary. Could you be Tasmanian?

You can be a Senior Physiotherapist anywhere. What’s different about Tasmania is our culture and our lifestyle. You will be encouraged to be yourself, to learn, to grow and to develop meaning in your work. You will have a powerful connection to your patients, and the community will encourage your success. Our isolation helps drive a culture of invention and human connection, which feels both old fashioned and… like the only future worth pursuing.

Some people enjoy the outdoors on weekends, hiking or mountain biking, or take painting classes, write novels, sell preserves at the weekly farmers’ market, become a wine connoisseur. We are small enough in Tasmania for you to shape and influence your work and make a real impact every day. Yet we are big enough for you to feel part of something important, somewhere you can belong and be surrounded by diversity, innovation, and friendships. Tasmanians are connected to the land where we live, and to the stories of the people who have cared for this place for tens of thousands of years.

We are a close-knit group with 80 in our Physio team, an eclectic mix of locals and new Tasmanian adventurers. Here, we work to the top of our scope, and continue to push the boundaries of this, trying new ideas and fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration. This team values evidence-informed care and research, with highly accomplished Physios like Ianthe Boden, Jane Lockstone and John Cannell influential in setting a scene for the pursuit of better. And you’ll be encouraged to be part of that. Based predominantly in our Acute Medical Unit, while sharing your expertise and teaching to our emerging therapists across our service, you will work alongside Annabel Love who would be happy to answer your questions around our hospital and team. Annabel can be contacted on Annabel.Love@ths.tas.gov.au.

We’ll look after you from the very beginning, ensure you are fully inducted and welcomed into our team and into our culture. Your fellow Allied Health colleagues, as well as the Nursing, and Specialist Medical and Surgical teams, will rely on you thriving in your work and will be invested in making this a reality. Take a look at the Statement of Duties below for more details.
