Job description:

Millbrook Rise Centre is a 27-bed mental health facility focusing on rehabilitation and recovery located in the beautiful Derwent Valley.

The Team:

  • Millbrook Rise Centre is a 27-bed mental health facility; we are a consumer-centred service with a focus on rehabilitation and recovery located in the beautiful Derwent Valley.
  • New Norfolk is a picturesque 35-minute drive up the river Derwent from Hobart with free parking on site.  The Derwent Valley is the gateway to some of Tasmania's sought after experiences such as wineries, beautiful waterfalls, ski fields and the popular Maydena Mountain Bike Park. 
  • Be part of a collaborative team that works with our consumers, their friends and families in their individualised recovery journey. We have a constantly developing activities program and we welcome new staff and new ideas to contribute to the activities program at the site.  

The Role:

The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is accountable for the design, implementation, assessment and evaluation of education programs and providing nursing expertise related to educational issues in meeting the strategic priorities of the Nursing and Midwifery workforce and the Organisation.

You will need:

  • Demonstrated high level knowledge, skills and clinical expertise and the ability to lead nursing practice through the principles of Practice Development.
  • Ability to apply facilitation skills, learning and evaluation strategies in the clinical context, to further the development of a person-centred culture including the implementation and evaluation of professional development, education and training activities.
  • Sound knowledge of contemporary education, health and professional development issues and their impact on the knowledge and skill requirements of the nursing workforce.

Details of appointment:

Permanent part time, day worker position, working up to 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Holds, or is currently working towards, postgraduate qualifications in education and/or clinical teaching and learning

  • Holds, or is currently working towards, postgraduate qualifications around clinical/practice speciality as relevant to the position
