The Team:
Ambulance Tasmania (AT) plays a vital role within the Tasmanian health system, providing statewide emergency ambulance services, aeromedical retrieval, and non‑emergency patient transport. AT operates within the broader Department of Health, working in close partnership with hospitals, community health, mental health, emergency management, and state and national agencies to deliver a safe, high-performing and responsive service to the Tasmanian community.
The team works in a dynamic, high‑profile environment where timely, accurate analysis and strong system knowledge directly support the effective delivery of ambulance services to all Tasmanians.
The Role:
- Coordinate the collection and use of data for the purposes of organisational, departmental, State-wide and national reporting.
- Develop and evaluate high quality activity and performance reports and business intelligence solutions to meet organisational and business unit requirements, with a focus on service planning, analysis, development and improvement.
- Provide high-level support to the Senior Data Analyst and key stakeholders, both internal and external to Ambulance Tasmania.
You will need:
- Demonstrated experience working within data analysis environments, employing research methodologies, analytical tools and data collection procedures for monitoring and measuring the impact of emerging trends, policies, and program initiatives in a complex organisation.
- Sound knowledge and experience of the use of database and spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft SQL and Excel, as well as a business intelligence software such as Qlikview or PowerBI.
- High-level interpersonal and oral communications skills, with the capacity to communicate simply and clearly on aspects of data analysis, reporting and statistics, including a focus on meeting client needs.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 29 June 2027.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $ 107,899 to $122,292 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Eligibility:
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Data analysis experience, particularly in a service delivery environment
- Tertiary qualification/s in a relevant field
- Experience using some or all of the following software/tools and languages:
- Microsoft Excel and Access
- Microsoft SQL, Oracle
- Qlikview, PowerBI
- Current Driver’s Licence
