The Team:
Medical and Cancer Services (MaCS) provide contemporary inpatient and outpatient health care services including Cancer Services, Acute Medicine, Subspecialty Medicine (Gastroenterology, Renal, Rheumatology, Neurology, Endocrinology), Respiratory, Ambulatory Care Services and Cardiology.
The Role:
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) - Medical and Cancer Services (MaCS) provides effective leadership and management to achieve the defined objectives of the MaCS stream and will:
- Provide the Nursing Director - MaCS with high quality and authoritative advice and support.
- Provide a high level of operational leadership and strategic direction, ensuring resources are efficiently utilised and services are effectively integrated.
You will need:
- Demonstrated ability to provide contemporary nursing leadership in a complex environment with knowledge of national and state health issues and reform agendas, and a track record in achievement of outcomes in areas of responsibility.
- Comprehensive knowledge and application of current nursing issues relevant to MaCS together with demonstrated knowledge of legislation, standards and policies affecting clinical practice.
- Proven ability to contribute effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary senior management team with proven experience in the management of physical, financial and human resources under a clinical service model or similar environment.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $154,301 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
