Job description:

Join a supportive, close-knit team as an Enrolled Nurse, delivering meaningful care in one of Tasmania’s most breathtaking locations. Based on Flinders Island, our multipurpose facility offers diverse clinical exposure across emergency care, aged care, sub-acute services, and community health.

The Team:

  • Multipurpose facility with 24 hour emergency care, 5 sub-acute beds, 9 residential aged care beds, community nursing, day centre as well as visiting medical specialists and allied health.
  • We also oversee a community health clinic on truwana/Cape Barren Island that provides community and emergency care for this remote aboriginal community.
  • Situated in the beautiful Furneaux Islands off the North East coast of Tasmania, a place renowned for its untamed beauty, pristine beaches and unrivalled opportunities for outdoor pursuits.

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced enrolled nurse to join our dedicated team of nurses and health care workers at the Flinders Island Multipurpose Centre.  

You will need:

  • At least 2 years post graduate experience as an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in Aged Care would be an advantage.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, full time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed upon date.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $73,109 to $80,524 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. 

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type.

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Regional Allowances:

  • District Allowances of up to $4,618 per annum for a family 
  • Remote Professional Development Allowance of $4,062 per annum and an additional salary allowance of 10%
