Bluegum Health Transformation | Tasmanian Department of Health
The Role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead and deliver complex Health ICT projects, providing strategic direction, expert advice, and strong governance across program initiatives. You will manage project outcomes from planning through to delivery, influence key stakeholders, and drive system reform initiatives within a dynamic government environment.
This role sits in our Bluegum Portfolio team, ensuring preparedness for the Electronic Medical Record and is responsible for managing a high-volume pipeline of third-party vendor engagements supporting the EMR Program to ensure contracts are established, while providing clear visibility of interdependencies and vendor readiness.
You will provide oversight, coordination, analysis, and resolution of third-party vendor contracts for systems that are integrated with or adjacent to the EMR platform, validating appropriate interface with the EMR, and ensuring all third-party systems meet satisfactory entry criteria to enable the EMR program to commence on the desired go-live date.
You will need
- Demonstrated experience in project management, particularly within large and complex ICT or government environments
- Strong leadership capability with ability to manage resources and meet key milestones
- Sound understanding of third-party vendor contracts and interdependencies
- Highly developed strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to negotiate and influence at senior levels
- Advanced written communication skills, including preparing high-level reports, briefings, and correspondence

Details of appointment
Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for 12 (twelve) months.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary
$144,169 to $153,844 per annum + our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025
