The Role

As part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the primary health care principles, Agency policy and direction, legal requirements, and relevant professional competencies.  The Clinical Nurse Consultant will provide effective management of human and physical resources, and leadership and direction in the strategic development and management of a comprehensive multidisciplinary inpatient mental health team.

You will need:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to manage and coordinate the clinical activities of a multidisciplinary adult inpatient mental health team with the ability to assist the NUM/ADON in relation to the effective management of human and physical resources.
  • Demonstrated specialist level knowledge and advanced practice in relation to the field of acute inpatient psychiatry, including a proven ability to provide a range of assessments and specialist treatments and interventions.
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively undertake a consultation/leadership role within a multidisciplinary adult inpatient setting, including providing supervision and support to other staff as required.

Details of appointment

Permanent part time, day worker position, working up to 12 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria: 

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Holds, or is working towards, a relevant postgraduate qualification

  • Current Driver’s Licence
