Job description:

Exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Department of Health!


The Team

The Community Continence Service team is a specialist service within the Tasmanian Health Service, providing specialist care from continence nurses and pelvic health physiotherapists across the southern districts of Tasmania.  The service offers help to adults with bladder, bowel and pelvic floor dysfunction, offering both clinic appointments and home visits if necessary.  It also provides specialist care with catheters and intermittent catheterisation and engages regularly with the community in health promotion.

The Role

In accordance with relevant Agency principles and policies, legal requirements and professional competencies, the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) - Community Continence conducts comprehensive assessments working with adults in the community setting who have bladder, bowel and/or pelvic floor dysfunction with a focus on incontinence.

Informed by the assessment data and resultant diagnosis, the CNS - Community Continence works collaboratively with individuals to develop treatment and management plans specific to the persons continence related needs.   

You will need

  1. Demonstrated clinical knowledge, skills and experience in assessment, care planning and intervention relevant to continence related bladder, bowel and/or pelvic floor dysfunction.
  2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including electronic, written and verbal, as well as the ability to plan and coordinate care in the community health care context.
  3. Proven ability to work autonomously as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Details of appointment

Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$109,767 to $115,813 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

  • Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People

  • Current Driver’s Licence

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Holds, or working towards a relevant postgraduate qualification

  • Knowledge and advanced practice skills in continence care

  • Experience in the community care setting
