
The Team:
The Launceston General Hospital is the principal referral hospital in the region for more than a quarter of a million people.
The Maternity Services is a level 5 service providing care for low, moderate, and high complexity mothers and babies over 32 weeks gestation. This service is multidisciplinary service with the capacity to manage all unexpected pregnancy and neonatal emergency presentations.
Womens and Childrens Services offers free Clinical Supervision for nurses and midwives and a supportive professional development culture.
You will need:
Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Midwife.
Current Working with Vulnerable People Check.
Holds, or is working towards, relevant post-graduate qualifications.
Demonstrated advanced level knowledge, skills and clinical experience in midwifery.
Ability to apply teaching and learning strategies in the clinical setting.
Sound knowledge of contemporary education, health and professional development issues, National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and their impact on the knowledge and skill requirements of the nursing/midwifery workforce.
The Role:
The Clinical Midwifery Educator (CME) facilitates and supports the education and development of the midwifery workforce, including midwifery students, postgraduate, and all sets of learners.
The CME is part of the Womens and Childrens Services leadership team, participating in Quality Improvement activities, Policy/Protocol development and review, and progressing the goals and actions within the Operational Plan.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, part time, day worker position, working up to 48 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you can join us!
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary:
$118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
