This is a rare opportunity to take on a senior, high-impact leadership role reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), Health ICT, where you will play a key role in shaping the long-term technology direction of Tasmania’s public health system.
As Head of Architecture, you will lead the enterprise architecture function at a strategic level, driving innovation, enabling major digital transformation programs, and ensuring technology investments deliver real improvements in patient outcomes and service delivery. You will work in close partnership with the Architecture Director within Bluegum Health Transformation, jointly shaping and aligning Enterprise Architecture functions across the Department and the transformation program.

What you’ll bring:
- Proven enterprise architecture leadership with the ability to set vision and define target state architectures.
- Experience shaping and delivering organisation-wide technology strategy and roadmaps.
- Strong track record influencing at executive level, including partnering with CIOs and senior stakeholders.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, strategic advice for non-technical audiences.
- Experience supporting large-scale transformation or digital programs in complex environments.
- Capability to establish and embed architecture governance, standards, and design assurance.
- A pragmatic, outcomes-focused mindset, balancing innovation, risk, and delivery.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $170,409 to $188,400 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Tertiary/professional qualifications and experience in the area of systems, technical or enterprise architecture such as The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF).
