Job description:

Join a supportive, recovery-focused mental health team and help people build meaningful, independent lives. Work collaboratively with consumers, families and healthcare professionals to deliver therapeutic programs and support individual recovery journeys.

The Team:

Millbrook Rise Centre is a 27-bed mental health subacute inpatient facility; we are a consumer-centred service with a focus on rehabilitation and recovery located in the beautiful Derwent Valley. We work closely with various services within not only Statewide Mental Health Services (SMHS) but also with the wider community services such as NDIS providers. 

We are a collaborative team that works with our consumers, their friends and families in their individualised recovery journey. We have a constantly developing activities and therapeutic groups program and we welcome new staff and new ideas to contribute to the activities program at the site.

The Role:

Works collaboratively with clients, other health care providers, stakeholder, families of clients and their carers in the delivery of therapeutic and/or occupational therapy programs 

You will need

  • Demonstrated capacity to work with people with mental illness and knowledge of client rehabilitation needs, client centred practice and the need to establish an environment of support.
  • Knowledge of resources and services available to support people with mental illness in the broader community, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles of maintaining appropriate therapeutic relationships with clients.

Details of appointment:

Permanent part time, day worker position, working 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $70,033 to $75,114 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025

Eligibility:

  • Current Driver’s Licence

  • Certificate IV in Community Services, Aged Care or Disability or Certificate IV in Mental Health
