We are looking for an organised and compassionate Executive Officer to become an integral part of our Medical and Cancer Services team. In this pivotal role, you will work alongside healthcare professionals and support staff who are committed to providing exceptional care to patients. As a leader, you will provide direction and support to help ensure the smooth and efficient operation of Medical and Cancer Service administrative functions, contributing to an environment that values patient care, empathy, and teamwork.
This position provides high level support and advice associated with the administrative functions of MaCS, covering a broad range of areas including providing executive support for the Clinical Director MaCS, medical workforce training and recruitment support and roster management for General Medicine.

The Role
- Provides high-level executive support to the Clinical Director of Medical and Cancer Services (MaCS), coordinating reports, meetings, correspondence, and key administrative functions.
- Leads and supports a dedicated administrative team, driving workforce recruitment, staff development, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Coordinates medical workforce recruitment and General Medicine rostering, ensuring efficient staffing processes and effective workforce planning.
- Manages and supports the Basic Physician Training (BPT) Program through coordination of training, recruitment activities, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
You will need
- Demonstrated capacity to manage the office of a senior executive, including the ability to work effectively and flexibly, set priorities, meet deadlines, work effectively under pressure and manage variable high- volume workloads.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in leading and managing an administrative team.
- Sound understanding of recruitment challenges, coordinating and managing medical recruitment including communicating with the Medical Workforce Unit to improve recruitment processes, developing and maintaining safe, effective General Medicine rostering practices and a demonstrated ability to problem solve.

Details of appointment
Permanent part time, day worker position, working 53.2 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon possible.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$102,027 to $106,985 per annum pro rata, Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025
