
The Team:
The Tasmanian Health Service is seeking applications from motivated and reliable individuals for the role of Administrative Assistant within the North West Renal Burnie Satellite Unit.
The Administrative Assistant provides efficient clerical and reception support with the renal unit, Parkside in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. This position involves a high standard of customer focused reception skills and a wide range of clerical functions.
The Role:
- Provide reception and clerical services including maintenance of a computerised appointment scheduling system and office equipment.
- Provide a confidential reception and information service to internal and external customers.
- Communication with agency staff and external service providers as required for efficient and effective support for patient care.
- Receive patients attending for dialysis and/or appointments’ ensuring relevant documentation is completed and data entered in the computer system.
- Arrange for receipt and return of patient records for scheduled appointments in accordance with the standards applying to medical record management.
- Perform revenue procedures, where applicable, for private and compensable patient schemes operating in the hospital.
- Participate in the collection and recording of data and reports as required within the department.
- Participate and assist with quality improvement activities including audits.
- Assist in clerical training of relief staff as requested.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term position working 48 hours per fortnight, rotational day work as negotiated with the Nurse Unit Manager commencing from as soon as possible until 4 December 2026.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar casual vacancies.
Salary: $68,854 to $73,947 per annum pro rata. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
