Job description:

Under supervision, and in accordance with Agency policy, legal, regulatory, and funded program requirements, the Health Care Assistant provides high quality care and support to community and/or facility-based clients and assists with a range of daily living activities that a person would normally do for themselves.

The Team

Beaconsfield District Health Service is a welcoming rural Multi purpose Service providing residential aged care, sub-acute inpatient care, community nursing and a range of primary health services to the local community. Our multidisciplinary team work collaboratively to deliver person centred, high quality care that promotes dignity, independence and wellbeing for resident and patients. The Role

The Health Care Assistant ( HCA) provides compassionate, person centred care to residents and patients within the Multi purpose Service under direction and supervision of Registered and Enrolled Nurses. The  HCA supports individuals with activities of daily living, including personal care, mobility, nutrition, hydration and social engagement while promoting independence, dignity and wellbeing. 

Working as  part of the team, the HCA contributes to a safe, welcoming and respectful environment by assisting with resident care, maintaining a clean and comfortable care environment, accurately reporting changes in residents condition and supporting the delivery of high quality care in accordance with Department of Health policies, the Aged care Quality Standards and organisational values. 

You will need

  • A genuine commitment to providing compassionate, person centred care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • The ability to build positive relationships withy residents, families and colleagues.

Details of appointment

  • Permanent, part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 26 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as you can join us. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$65,827 to $68,854 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2025

Eligibility
