Digital Infrastructure Services provides the foundational technology platforms that keep Tasmania’s public health system connected, secure and operational. The team delivers and supports enterprise data centres, compute and storage platforms, virtualisation, data protection, network connectivity, Wi‑Fi and core infrastructure services that underpin clinical, corporate and business systems across the state.
Working in a complex 24×7 always-on health environment, the team plays a critical role in service reliability, cyber resilience, asset lifecycle management, infrastructure modernisation, and the delivery of technology that directly supports frontline care. The Role
Join Digital Infrastructure Services and help deliver the network and communications services that keep Tasmania’s public health system connected, secure and operational.
As a Senior IT Officer – Communications, you will support and maintain enterprise network and communications infrastructure across a large, complex 24×7 environment. You will take ownership of complex incidents, provide advanced technical support, and contribute to the design, deployment and continuous improvement of critical services.
This role delivers operational support across the full-service lifecycle, from planning through to optimisation. You’ll work closely with stakeholders, support team capability, and help maintain reliable, secure and high-performing services.
You will need
- Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise network and communications environments
- Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to manage and resolve complex incidents
- Experience contributing to the design, deployment and optimisation of network services
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work independently and mentor others

Details of appointment
Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for 6 months.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary
$102,027 to $106,985 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025.

Eligibility
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Tertiary qualifications in computer technology or a related discipline
- Relevant IT industry experience
