Job description:

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) is an experienced nurse who, within the defined area of practice: • Works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework. • Assists the NUM with the planning and management of staff and resources and provides operational leadership through the coordination of the day to day patient care activities, including patient flow.

The Team

The Deloraine District Hospital is a 20 bed Acute care facility that includes Palliative Care General Medical and post surgery Care. The Hospital coordinates the delivery of a broad range of community and allied services within the Meander Valley. Our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce and the Meander Valley community. 

The Role

You will need:

  • Assist the NUM with the day to day Management and coordination of resources to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Assist the NUM in the development and maintenance of a strong, collaborative professional team environment which promotes a positive culture and contemporary nursing leadership.
  • Provide a high level of clinical knowledge and skill to ensure clinical standards are met

Details of appointment

  • Permanent, part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working up to 36 hours per fortnight, 23 August 2026.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary

$109,767 to $115,813 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type 

Salary Packaging 

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

  • Rural Professional Development Allowance of an additional salary allowance of 4%

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

  • Holds, or is working towards, relevant postgraduate qualifications
