
The Team
The Cardiology Administrative Team provides essential administrative and clerical support to the Cardiology Service, ensuring the efficient coordination of outpatient clinics, patient appointments, correspondence, and clinical records. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, the team supports cardiologists, nursing staff, allied health professionals, and patients to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.
As part of the Department of Health, the Cardiology Service is committed to improving health outcomes for Tasmanians through the delivery of safe, timely, and effective specialist cardiac care. The administrative team plays a vital role in supporting service delivery, ensuring patients receive a positive experience and access to care when they need it most.
The Role
As a member of the Cardiology Administrative Team, you will provide a range of administrative and reception services to support the day-to-day operations of the Cardiology Service. Duties include managing patient appointments, maintaining accurate electronic records, responding to telephone and email enquiries, processing correspondence, and providing excellent customer service to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Working collaboratively within a busy healthcare environment, you will contribute to the smooth and efficient delivery of specialist cardiology services while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
You will need
- Well-developed administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy office environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with a commitment to providing a professional and compassionate service to patients and stakeholders.
- Experience using computerised administration systems and the ability to maintain accurate records with a high level of attention to detail.

Details of appointment
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary
$68,854 to $73,947 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award.
