The Team
The Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Service is a tertiary level service which delivers mental health interventions to mothers experiencing mental health issues in the perinatal and postnatal period, as well as their infants.

The Role
The role sits within the Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Service (PIMHS). PIMHS South is a community-based specialist/tertiary perinatal mental health service for women affected by, or at risk of significant mental health challenges related to pregnancy and the postnatal period (up to 12 months following birth). The multidisciplinary team offers assessment or secondary consultation, treatment or advice to consumers and the stakeholders engaged in their care.
You will need
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience within Mental Health Services, with a demonstrated understanding of PIMH clinical practice.
- Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and experience of the range of psychiatric disorders which may occur in the perinatal period, and appropriate treatments.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the various factors, both antenatal and postnatal, which may affect an infant’s emotional, social, cognitive and behavioural development.

Details of appointment
Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of approximately 6 months.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$117272 to $126182 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2025

- Please note that access to salaries beyond $123,487 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Eligibility
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, full membership/eligible for membership with the relevant professional association
- Current Working with Children Registration
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Completion or progression towards the completion of a postgraduate qualification relevant to the position
