Job description:

Within a Primary Health Care framework and in accordance with Agency and Organisational policies and legal requirements the Diversional Therapy Assistant will provide support for, and assist, the Adult Day Centre (ADC) Coordinator/Diversional Therapist by undertaking a range of duties involved with planning and implementing individual client care, activities and group programs.

The Team

The Adult Day Centre in Latrobe is comprised of a small team who deliver the social support programme to promote wellness and reablement to its clients.

The Role

We are seeking a full time Diversional Therapist to deliver a social support program to clients in a warm and caring environment with a wellness and reablement focus.   Applicants need to be client focused and interested in working in a small team environment to plan, implement individual client care and deliver activities and group programs for their clients. The activities of the Adult Day Centre are delivered within the Aged Care Framework, ensuring clients’ needs are met and activities are client focused.

You will need

  • Genuine desire to work with and support older persons and those with disability, supporting clients with individual care needs and programme delivery
  • Competent computer skills

Details of appointment

  • Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary

$70,033 to $75,114 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2025

Eligibility

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle.

  • Current First Aid Certificate.

  • Medium Rigid (MR) class Licence and Ancillary Certificate (for driving Public Passenger vehicles).

  • Current Driver’s Licence.
