The Team
Working within the Royal Hobart Hospital Pharmacy’s Compounding & Cancer Services unit, the Clinical Trials & Specialised Drugs team provide expert care to inpatients and outpatients of the RHH across haematology, oncology, paediatrics and other clinical areas.
The Role
Under supervision of the Team Leader – Compounding & Cancer Care Services and the Lead Pharmacist - Compounding & Cancer Care Services, develop and contribute to a safe and efficient compounding service to inpatients and outpatients of the Department of Health (DoH). Oversee the work of team members whose work includes the specialist areas of extemporaneous, aseptic and cytotoxic compounding, including undertaking training, professional supervision, and support regarding other pharmacy staff
You will need
- Experience in manufacture of complex parenteral or extemporaneous products and/or experience in clinical application of these products.
- Possession of, or working towards, a postgraduate qualification in relevant area.
- Current Driver’s Licence

Details of appointment
Permanent part time, day worker position, working 28 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$117,272 to $126,182 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2025.
Salary Packaging
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Allowances
- Please note that access to salaries beyond $123,487 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1200 per annum, paid on a fortnightly, pro rata basis.
- A market allowance of $10,000 per annum pro rata is applicable to this role.

Eligibility
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia or completion of an overseas qualification eligible for skills assessment through the Australian Pharmacy Council.

Registered with the Pharmacy Board of Australia
