Job description:

The Team

Ward 5D is a 32-bed general medical, haematology and oncology ward located on Level 5 of the Launceston General Hospital. The Role

  • Strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients/clients, their families and other health professionals. 
  • Practice in accordance with the NMBA codes and guidelines for registered nurses and midwives.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and promotion of a safe work environment
  • In collaboration with members of the healthcare team plan, implement and evaluates patient/client care.
  • Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a strong team approach through open communication and a positive supportive approach

You will need

  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

  • Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing principles, procedures and practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a designated practice area and in line with legal requirements and NMBA Registered Nurse standards for practice.

  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills, including written skills and the ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Details of appointment

Fixed term, part time, shift worker position, working up to 64 hours per fortnight, from 04/11/2026 to 11/04/27.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type (RN)
