The Northern Region is a fantastic place to work, live, and unwind on your days off.
Our region is made up of 13 Branch Stations, with a mix of operating models to suit community needs. Several stations operate 24 hours a day on a DDNN roster, while others are 96-hour stations, consisting of four days on with on-call, all based around a 4x4 roster. Our two urban stations are conveniently located close to the Launceston CBD, providing easy access to city amenities and services.

The Role
As a Branch Station Officer, you will provide emergency and non-emergency pre-hospital patient care and transport services within your community. Working from a branch station, you will oversee day-to-day station operations, support and develop Volunteer Ambulance Officers (VAOs), maintain strong community relationships, and contribute to a safe, positive and professional working environment. You may also provide support to volunteer emergency response teams and participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives.
You will need
- Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality patient care in a pre-hospital environment.
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to supervise, mentor and support volunteers and team members.
- Well-developed organisational and administrative skills.
- A commitment to community engagement and building positive stakeholder relationships.
- The ability to work collaboratively with other emergency services, health professionals and community groups.
- A strong focus on safety, professionalism and continuous improvement.

Details of appointment
Permanent, full time, shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$144,957 to $149,591 per annum + our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Ambulance Tasmania Agreement 2022
Salary Packaging
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Registered with the Paramedicine Board of Australia
- Holds a Bachelor of Paramedic Scient and relevant work experience or other qualification approved by the Service.
- Current Driver's Licence
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent
Applicants should note the position features:
- Ambulance Tasmania is committed to promoting a positive workplace culture.
- Paramedics may be required to undertake periods of relief at outer urban or rural branch stations and intrastate travel may be required for training and other specified purposes.
- The occupant is required to undertake on-call duties when working from a single branch station.
