The Mental Health Inpatient Unit is an acute inpatient mental health service located at the Royal Hobart Hospital. We provide inpatient treatment for individuals who require 24-hour specialist mental health care in a safe and secure environment. Our multidisciplinary team work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

The Role
Join Statewide Mental Health Services in a pivotal role providing high-level executive and administrative support to senior leadership. As the Executive Assistant, you will help coordinate the day-to-day operations of a busy office, ensuring the efficient flow of information, correspondence and administrative processes that support the delivery of mental health services across Tasmania.
Working closely with senior management, you will manage a diverse workload including document preparation, meeting coordination, minute taking, office management, financial administration and information management. You will play an important role in improving administrative systems and processes, supporting staff, and helping the service achieve its operational and strategic objectives in a fast-paced and rewarding healthcare environment.
You will need
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong administrative and office management experience in a busy and dynamic environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally, including personal data protection and sensitive information regarding employees and clients of the service.
- Strong attention to detail when preparing documents, correspondence, reports and meeting records.
- Confidence using business systems and technology to maintain records, databases and reports.
- Sound problem-solving skills and the initiative to identify and implement practical solutions.
- Experience supporting senior leaders and coordinating a range of administrative activities.
- A commitment to providing responsive, professional and customer-focused support services.

Details of appointment
Permanent, part time, day worker position, working up to 15.2 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary
$76,849 to $82,996 pro rata per annum + our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025
