
The Team
The Sub-Acute, Aged & Community Services (SAACS) executive and administrative team provide support to clinical specialties such as acute older persons units, geriatric evaluation and management, rehabilitation, palliative care, and associated services. These services work across several areas including at Royal Hobart Hospital, Repatriation Centre, community centres, district hospitals, and cover inpatient and outpatient services,
The Role
The Executive Assistant plays a key role in supporting senior leaders who deliver essential healthcare services across Southern Tasmania. A primary focus of this role is recruitment support, and the Executive Assistant provides advice and support to managers around recruitment practices, workforce management and compliance with relevant awards, local policy, and industrial requirements.
Other aspects of the role may include providing high-level administrative and executive support, helping to coordinate meetings, manage information, prepare reports, and support a range of operational initiatives. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you'll contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of services that make a real difference to the community.
You will need
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience in, or capacity to obtain knowledge of, recruitment processes.
- Experience providing high-quality administrative or executive support.
- Excellent communication skills with a professional and collaborative approach.
- Confidence working with a range of systems, databases and Microsoft Office applications.
- The ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- A proactive mindset with the initiative to solve problems and support continuous improvement.

Details of appointment
Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 31 January 2028.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary
$76,849 to $82,996 per annum + our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025
