Oral Health Services Tasmania (OHST) is the government based dental provider for eligible Tasmanians. The service is divided into Children, Adult and Prosthetic services and OHST employs dental professionals across multiple disciplines.
The Role
Join Oral Health Services Tasmania and play an essential role in supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality dental care across the community. As a Dental Sterilisation Technician, you will be responsible for the reprocessing, sterilisation and management of dental instruments and equipment, helping to ensure patients and clinicians have access to safe, reliable and efficient services.

You will need
- Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, dental instrument reprocessing and sterilisation practices in line with relevant standards and guidelines.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a busy environment.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to working collaboratively within a team.
- The ability to work independently, use initiative and take responsibility for maintaining high standards.
- An understanding of infection prevention and control principles and workplace health and safety practices.
- Experience monitoring stock, maintaining accurate records and supporting quality assurance processes.
- Relevant experience in sterilisation services, dental assisting or healthcare support roles will be highly regarded

Details of appointment
Multiple fixed term, casual, day worker positions working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 12 months.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary
$76,849 to $82,996 pro rata per annum + our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Plus 25% casual loading - Equivalent of $48.42 to $52.30 per hour.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025

Eligibility
