Job description:
The purpose of the role is to implement the field centre operational plans, carry out works to maintain field centre infrastructure and facilities for the conservation and sustainable use of natural and cultural resources.
About the role
The Field Officer will carry out operational plans, works programs and projects to maintain field centre infrastructure and facilities for the conservation and sustainable use of natural and cultural resources.
Based in the Stanley and West Coast Field Centres, the Field Officer will work in some remote and beautiful areas of Tasmania inaccessible to the public.
Each day will be different as you apply your practical skills and experience to contribute to the success of the team. You will undertake a wide range of tasks which could include firefighting, managing wildlife, managing visitor assets such as tracks and toilets, and you could find yourself traveling to remote or offshore locations in boats, helicopters and UTV’s.

Hours per fortnight
76.0 hours per fortnight (minimum 60.8 hours, by negotiation).
Desirable requirements
- A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
- A current Workplace Level 2 First Aid Certificate or equivalent.
