Duties
The role of Manager, Learning and Development within State Emergency Services (SES), DPFEM is a pivotal role which will drive and implement learning and development within SES. To be successful in the role you will have excellent analytical, communication and networking skills which will allow you to research, develop and review learning and development within the SES. As part of your role, you will be responsible for the implementation of policies, regulations and plans across the state for SES.
As a member of the SES, you will require a forward thinking, values-based approach. You will bring to this role transferable skills and qualifications in the learning and development space, and a sound understanding of working with a variety of different stakeholders. You will also have some experience with managing a small team, or able to showcase transferable qualities that demonstrate your leadership style.

The Head of the State Service has determined that a person nominated for appointment to this position is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer. Any relevant serious criminal offence or repeated serious offences over any period, which are not mitigated by additional information, may provide grounds for declining an application for appointment. Such offences would include, but are not limited to:

- Sexual offences;
- Dishonesty (e.g. theft, burglary, breaking and entering, fraud);
- Deception (e.g. obtaining an advantage by deception);
- Making false declarations;
- Violent crimes and crimes against the person;
- Malicious damage and destruction to property
- Trafficking of narcotic substance;
- False alarm raising.
Desirable Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline would be viewed favourably as would a current Certificate IV Training & Assessment (TAE40110).
