Job description:

Develop, implement and manage SES learning and development activities including policy, budget and resources, and learning and assessment requirements throughout the State. Ensure consistent and contemporary delivery of training and support to volunteers and manage staff professional development statewide. Manage competency and skills-based training within the SES and ensure the maintenance of strict national Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) compliance.

Duties

The role of Manager, Learning and Development within State Emergency Services (SES), DPFEM is a pivotal role which will drive and implement learning and development within SES.  To be successful in the role you will have excellent analytical, communication and networking skills which will allow you to research, develop and review learning and development within the SES. As part of your role, you will be responsible for the implementation of policies, regulations and plans across the state for SES.

As a member of the SES, you will require a forward thinking, values-based approach. You will bring to this role transferable skills and qualifications in the learning and development space, and a sound understanding of working with a variety of different stakeholders. You will also have some experience with managing a small team, or able to showcase transferable qualities that demonstrate your leadership style.

Essential Requirements

  • Trafficking of narcotic substance;
  • False alarm raising. 

Desirable Requirements

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline would be viewed favourably as would a current Certificate IV Training & Assessment (TAE40110).
