Job description:

Provide high-level administrative support to facilitate the efficient and effective management of approvals for works, activities, or events on the State Road network under relevant legislation.

Period of Appointment

Appointment to the role is on a fixed-term flexible basis (up to 73.5 hours per fortnight) for 18 months. 

Duties

  • Ensure the effective and efficient day-to-day administration of applications for works and activities on the State Road network in accordance with relevant legislation by:
    • Providing advice to customers on the application process and dealing with customers in a credible, friendly, professional and timely manner
    • Providing administrative support to technical officers across the Transport Group to ensure the efficient processing of applications and enquiries within required timeframes.
    • Reviewing applications and preparing permits for sign off by statutory delegates.
    • Ensuring a working knowledge of relevant legislation
    • Working collaboratively with other members of the Policy, Legislation and Approvals team to effectively manage the overall approvals workload.
  • Provide ad hoc / periodic support to the Manager Policy, Legislation and Approvals by:
    • Undertaking testing of new and existing online application forms relating to approvals activities
    • Supporting the development and implementation of business improvements including compiling statistics to allow for reporting on approvals activity.
    • Undertaking special duties within the individual’s capabilities, or for developmental purposes including undertaking Transport Commission support tasks as directed
