Job description:

Responsible for complex case management and the provision of high-level advice in relation to workers compensation, non-work-related injury or illness and return to work arrangements to ensure effective and appropriate management of each impacted individual with the focus on “return to best possible health”.

Duties

Responsible for complex case management and the provision of high-level advice in relation to workers compensation, non-work-related injury or illness and return to work arrangements to ensure effective and appropriate management of each impacted individual with the focus on “return to best possible health”.

Essential Requirements

Pre-Employment Checks 

The Head of the State Service has determined that a person nominated for appointment to this position is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer. Any relevant serious criminal offence or repeated serious offences over any period, which are not mitigated by additional information, may provide grounds for declining an application for appointment. Such offences would include, but are not limited to:

  • Arson and fire setting;
  • Sexual offences;
  • Dishonesty (e.g. theft, burglary, breaking and entering, fraud);
  • Deception (e.g. obtaining an advantage by deception);
  • Making false declarations;
  • Violent crimes and crimes against the person;
  • Malicious damage and destruction to property
  • Trafficking of narcotic substance;
  • False alarm raising.

Desirable Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Personal Injury Management (Return-to-Work) or the ability to obtain the qualification.
  • Qualified Injury Management Coordinator (successful completion of training identified by the WorkCover Tasmania Board) or the ability to obtain the qualification.
  • Tertiary qualification(s) in workers compensation claims, injury management or a related discipline.

The role of Injury Management Consultant within Wellbeing Support is responsible for undertaking complex case management and providing high level advice in regard to workers compensation and return to work arrangements. The role is challenging, but rewarding, and this opportunity will allow you to gain a broad range of experience.

Your day may comprise of a range of responsibilities, from providing support and advice to various stakeholders, including (but not limited to) managers, employees and volunteers and maintaining productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You will be working in a collaborative team environment and will bring to the role your high-level interpersonal skills, knowledge and experience in injury management practices.
