About You
We are looking for a motivated, interested and capable economic modeller with lots of potential to join our small team. You will work as part of a highly skilled team of professionals and because of this and the breadth of issues that we deal with, you will have plenty of opportunity to develop your skills and experience.
Ideally you will have:
- strong economic modelling skills or the ability to pick up those skills in a short amount of time;
- a strong desire to develop your skills, experience and judgement;
- a willingness to take on a range of responsibilities and tasks;
- a capacity to understand economic and other data;
- leadership capability to motivate people to achieve shared goals;
- the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders; and
- plenty of potential.

About the Branch
The Economic Policy Branch provides economic policy advice to other agencies and to the Government on various issues including areas of significant policy and regulatory reform, industry assistance, fee and royalty policies, competition policy, economic modelling (including computable general equilibrium (CGE) modelling), cost-benefit analysis, and competitive neutrality. The Branch monitors trends in the Tasmanian and Australian economies, prepares economic forecasts and undertakes analysis and modelling to inform advice on a range of economic and related issues.
