Job description:

To lead the engagement, communications, and innovation activities, provide advice on and ensure successful delivery of stakeholder engagement, marketing campaigns, partnerships and collaboration activities, communications, and media management for Private Forests Tasmania (PFT). This will be achieved in the context of PFT’s statutory objective of facilitating and expanding the development of Tasmania’s private forest resource in a manner which is consistent with sound forest and land management practices.

Duties

  • Provide advice on current communication and engagement matters that affect PFT and its private forestry stakeholders and identify new tools (AI, digital, CRM) that can support and enhance PFT and the private forest sector.
  •  Develop and deliver workshops, learning resources, and coaching programs to equip internal and external stakeholders with the tools, language, and processes needed for innovation success.
  • Work with internal teams and external partners to deliver initiatives that drive real-world outcomes, create value for the Tasmanian community, and position PFT as an industry innovation leader.
  • Anticipate future industry needs and convert these needs into Innovation projects by engaging with internal and external stakeholders and researching new technologies and trends.
  • Lead the design, delivery, evaluation and review of relevant programs, for example The Tree Alliance, communications and media materials, operational approach, in collaboration with the greater PFT team, internal and external technical experts and relevant stakeholders.
  • Establish collaborative partnerships and effective relationships internally and externally including the department and key stakeholders.
  • Produce timely high-quality written communication materials for a range of internal and external audiences and media platforms - including media releases, features, publications and online content for the web and social media.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and review appropriate systems and procedures that support the effective and efficient provision of stakeholder engagement, marketing and communications activities of the team.
  • Coordinate the delivery of PFT’s Annual Report.

Essential Requirements

  • Current Drivers Licence

Desirable Requirements

  • Knowledge of forestry in Tasmania
  • Qualifications and/or extensive experience in:
    • Journalism
    • Marketing
    • Stakeholder engagement/managing partnerships
