Hobart or Launceston - with the occupant covering the state-wide team
Duties
- Work effectively as a member of the team and provide leadership, practice supervision and direction to Senior Guardians to ensure that the quality and timeliness of services provided is to the required standard.
- Assist the Public Guardian to investigate and resolve complaints or allegations of inappropriate guardianship, exploitation, abuse or neglect of persons with disabilities.
- Make applications, act as guardian for persons with disabilities and advocate on their behalf when the Public Guardian is appointed by the Tasmanian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
- Assist the Public Guardian to arrange, co-ordinate and promote informed public awareness and understanding of the rights of people with a disability and provide authoritative advice, on guardianship issues and the rights of people with a disability.
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement strategies to promote understanding of guardianship and the rights of people with disability.
- Participate in an after-hours “on-call” emergency service. Assist with emergency investigations at short notice.
- Lead the provision of on-boarding and induction of new guardians.
- Provide oversight and quality improvement activities relating to the decision-making practices of the office.
