Job description:

This position assists the State Litigator in the conduct and management of the business by providing high level administrative and clerical support to the Legal Practitioners.

Period of Appointment

Fixed term until 28 January 2026.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.

Duties

  • Assist with the preparation of lists of documents for discovery.
  • Coordinate medical appointments for plaintiffs, including travel and provision of documents to medical specialists.
  • Arrange travel for legal practitioners, including accommodation and car hire.
  • Compile, vet, and file documents with the Court and arrange service.
  • Attend the Supreme Court and other courts and tribunals as law clerk to assist in the effective presentation of civil litigation.
  • Undertake a wide range of clerical and administrative duties to support the efficient and effective delivery of services by the State Litigation Office including typing correspondence, opening and closing files, archiving files and coordinating video links.
  • Maintain database by ensuring timely and accurate data.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team including providing support and guidance to administrative assistant positions.
  • Other administrative tasks as required.

Desirable Requirements

  • Certificate III or IV in Business Administration or Business (Legal Services)
  • Current Driver's Licence
