Job description:

Contribute to the efficient, effective and ethical operation of the Tasmanian Electoral Commission (TEC) through the provision of support to the Operations team in their preparation for and conduct of electoral events.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available. 

Duties

  • Act as the first point of contact for the Operations team by providing professional and confidential responses to basic reception, telephone, email and internet-based enquiries and through monitoring of a range of email accounts related to TEC operations.
  • Provide administrative support to the Operations team, utilising a range of systems and software to prepare, print, collate and send correspondence, publications and other documents.
  • Input data, record information, maintain records and assist with the development of statistics utilising a range of TEC databases and programs.
  • Provide operational support for local government, parliamentary, statutory, and non-statutory elections
  • Assist in updating and proofing manuals, training materials and other documentation needed for smooth running of electoral events.
  • Undertake desktop research and sourcing of information to support Operations team projects.
  • Assist the Elections Officers in the stocktake, collation and distribution of materials, hire of premises, staffing expressions of interest, and employment processes.
  • Provide general administrative support to Managers and Directors as needed, including assistance with clerical and procurement activities.
