Job description:
Provide advice, information and assistance to visitors completing the multi-day Overland Track walk at Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park.

About the role
The Track Ranger provides high quality services to support visitors completing the multi-day Overland Track walk.
The Overland Track is Australia's premier alpine walk located in the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. The walk is a 65 kilometre, six-day trek through the wilderness with spectacular scenery and landscapes.
In this role, the Track Ranger will:
- Provide visitors with information, interpretation, advice and assistance.
- Complete maintenance and monitoring tasks.
- Share your knowledge of the natural and cultural heritage of the area.
- Undertake enforcement procedures for minor offences.

Hours per fortnight
64 hours per fortnight.
Period of appointment
Seasonal appointment from September 2025 for 8 months, and from September 2026 for 8 months.
Essential requirements
- Satisfactory completion of medical examination and fire fighter fitness test.
- Workplace Level 2 First Aid Certificate.
Desirable requirements
- Immunisation for Hepatitis A & B or the willingness to acquire prior to appointment.
- A current motor vehicle drivers’ licence.
- Statement of competency (accreditation) in Chainsaw and Brush cutter use.
- Wilderness First Aid qualification.
- Experience working on the Overland Track.
