Period of Appointment
Fixed-term for 12 months.
Hours per fortnight
Part-time, 36 hours and 45 minutes per fortnight - flexible options available.
Duties
- Deliver general advice to clients in relation to all areas of the law and legal procedures using telephone, face-to-face, online and videoconference communication platforms.
- Interview clients in our Legal Help Clinic program and facilitate referrals to other services where appropriate.
- Provide advice and recommendations to senior staff.
- Undertake specific assignments in accordance with briefings.
- Prepare and deliver community legal education.
- Support Tasmania Legal Aid’s service delivery priorities.
- Perform other legal work as directed in Tasmania Legal Aid’s practice areas.
Essential Requirements
- Admitted or eligible for admission as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Tasmania and the relevant federal courts.
Desirable Requirements
- Current Motor Vehicle Driver’s Licence.
