Job description:

Undertake a range of taxation, grant and rebate assessment, education and compliance activities working in our State Revenue Office. Use your sound leadership, output management and judgement skills to achieve efficient revenue collection and taxation compliance outcomes in a supportive team environment.

About You

Treasury is looking for a motivated and capable Senior Revenue Officer to join our Revenue Branch to undertake taxation, grant and rebate assessments, education and compliance activities.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to improving the wellbeing of Tasmanians, by engaging in the efficient administration of Tasmania’s taxation, grant and rebate laws.

You will have sound judgement combined with strong analytical and communication skills. Working as part of a small, dedicated and professional team, your success requires the ability to analyse complex issues; clearly communicate to stakeholders; and demonstrate initiative.

This role suits someone who has experience dealing with stakeholders, is organised and proactive, makes sound decisions, and fosters a positive team environment.

About the Branch

The Revenue Branch administers a range of legislation relating to taxation, grants, concessions, and rebates. This includes collecting taxation revenue, processing applications to ensure adherence with eligibility criteria, risk based and targeted auditing, ensuring decisions are based on sound legal principles and managing outstanding debts.

Hours per fortnight

Up to 73.5 - hours flexible - talk to us about how this could work for you. We are open to considering a range of flexible work options including part time hours.

A relevant qualification or equivalent experience.
