Job description:

Provide advice, sales and maintenance services in relation to fire protection equipment throughout Tasmania in accordance with relevant legislation, codes and standards.

TasFire Equipment

Tas Fire Equipment is seeking a reliable and motivated person to join our team in the Northwest region of Tasmania.

This hands-on role offers plenty of variety and the chance to make a tangible impact on community safety. You’ll work across a mix of commercial, industrial, and rural sites, installing and maintaining essential fire protection equipment.

Hours per Fortnight

Additional Allowance

This position is classified as a Fire Equipment Officer Level 1, 2 or 3 as defined in the Tasmanian Fire Service TasFire Equipment Industrial Agreement 2013.

The position is remunerated in line with the Tasmanian State Service Award, plus an additional 6% allowance.

Provide advice, sales and maintenance services in relation to fire protection equipment throughout Tasmania in accordance with relevant legislation, codes and standards.

Essential Requirements

Pre-Employment Checks 

The Head of the State Service has determined that a person nominated for appointment to this position is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer. Any relevant serious criminal offence or repeated serious offences over any period, which are not mitigated by additional information, may provide grounds for declining an application for appointment. Such offences would include, but are not limited to:

  • Arson and fire setting;
  • Sexual offences;
  • Dishonesty (e.g. theft, burglary, breaking and entering, fraud);
  • Deception (e.g. obtaining an advantage by deception);
  • Making false declarations;
  • Violent crimes and crimes against the person;
  • Malicious damage and destruction to property
  • Trafficking of narcotic substance;
  • False alarm raising.

Desirable Requirements

  • Certificate 2/3 in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing.
