  • Our worksite is a heritage building nestled in Hobart’s CBD with a short commute.

About you

We are looking for a capable and motivated individual, experienced in financial management policy development, review and interpretation, to join our Government Finance and Accounting Branch in a permanent capacity.

You will be a senior member of the branch providing specialist advice to the Government and entities on public financial management policy, regulation and reporting issues. You will be self-motivated to operate with considerable autonomy within your specialised area of expertise. There will be opportunity to develop your skills and experience.

Ideally you will have:

  • experience analysing, interpreting and providing advice on financial management legislation and policy frameworks;
  • experience in managing financial management projects;
  • a strong desire to develop your skills, experience and judgement;
  • a willingness to take on a range of responsibilities and tasks;
  • leadership capability to motivate people to achieve shared goals; and
  • the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

You will be expected to research, develop and contribute to contemporary financial management policies and guidelines in the Tasmanian public sector and build networks within Treasury and the public sector community.

This opportunity is based in Treasury’s Government Finance and Accounting Branch, which monitors and reports on finances at both an agency and whole-of-government level and develops and implements financial management policy advice for the General Government Sector.
