About the role
The purpose of the role is to lead a small team of officers to ensure program and operational plans and emergency responses are successfully implemented to identify, prevent and respond to biosecurity risks and to maintain high standards of animal welfare and product integrity in Tasmania. The occupant of this position will be required to be an authorised officer under the Biosecurity Act 2019.

Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).
Essential requirements
- Satisfactory security clearance as required by port authorities.
- A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
Desirable requirements
- A Certificate IV qualification in plant health, animal health, land management or invasive species management biosecurity emergency management or government investigations or statutory compliance relevant to the nature of the work to be undertaken, as provided by either a university, a vocational education organisation or a registered and accredited training provider.
