Job description:

This position provides professional, highly motivated and proactive executive support to the Secretary of the Department of Treasury and Finance. You will research, plan and anticipate requirements to ensure the Secretary and Executive team are prepared and informed on relevant matters. You will also play an integral role within the team that provides support to Treasury’s Executive.

As part of a small and dynamic multi-skilled team, you will provide professional, highly motivated and proactive executive support to the Secretary, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Secretary’s office and the Treasury Executive team. You will also provide high level administrative support to the broader Office of the Secretary operations on an ad hoc basis.

About You

You will have exceptional organisational and judgement skills. As the first point of contact for the Secretary, you will have excellent communication and people skills and the ability to engage with a wide range of diverse stakeholders. You will be comfortable working in a high-pressure environment and able to adapt to changing priorities. You will have a proactive approach and a keen eye for detail. You will also play an integral role within the team that provides support to Treasury’s Executive.

About Us

Treasury provides the Government with objective advice on the economic and financial management of the State. We also implement Government policies and programs, and perform analysis, monitoring and reporting functions on behalf of the Government.

The primary responsibilities of the Branch are to provide high level analytical, research and administrative support to the Secretary and Deputy Secretaries and to manage relations between the Department and the Office of the Treasurer, Cabinet and Parliament.

Hours per fortnight

Up to 73.5 - hours flexible - talk to us about how this could work for you. We are open to considering a range of flexible work options including part time hours.

Highly Desirable Requirements

Completion or partial completion of relevant tertiary or industry qualifications and/or professional affiliations.
