Job description:

Carry out complex tasks as a senior technical specialist in the Plan Services section associated with the examination, production and recording of plans and cadastral information. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in relation to cadastral and related legal and procedural matters and assist with quality control and workflow management.

Contribute to the integrity and accuracy of Tasmania’s land titling system!

As a Senior Technical Officer in Plan Services, you will play a pivotal role in examining and recording plans and cadastral information to ensure compliance with survey, local government and land title legislation as well as with cadastral and land titling practices and procedures. In this role you will:

  • Examine plans of survey, strata plans, compiled plans and diagrams supporting land registry instruments.
  • Provide technical expert advice on cadastral and land titling matters to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare plan support documentation, reports and requisitions as necessary to facilitate the approval and registration of plans.
  • Lead and mentor staff, contributing to training and workflow coordination.
  • Support the Section Manager in managing priorities, performance metrics and policy development.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).

Desirable requirements

  • A tertiary qualification in a discipline relevant to the nature of the work to be undertaken.
  • Experience in using computer drafting software.
