Job description:
Be part of enriching Tasmania’s social and cultural life through maintaining the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens lawn areas.

About the role
As Lawn Technician, you’ll develop and implement a comprehensive turf management work program plan for the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens (RTBG) lawn areas. You’ll oversee and conduct all aspects of turf maintenance and renovations, including aeration, scarifying, seeding, fertilizing and topdressing, and maintain the RTBG irrigation systems and horticultural machinery.

Hours per fortnight
76.0 hours per fortnight (minimum 60.8 hours, by negotiation).
Period of appointment
24 months.
Essential requirements
- A Certificate III (Sports Turf Management Cert. III (AHC31319) in Sports Turf Management or an equivalent level, relevant to the nature of the work to be undertaken, as provided by either a vocational education organisation or a registered and accredited training provider.
Desirable requirements
- Current drivers licence.
- Workplace Level 2 First Aid certificate.
- Accredited competency in the use of Turf equipment and machinery.
- Experience in a similar role in a botanical garden, or large public garden.
